Memorable Quotes:

"The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places."

Ernest Hemingway

"While I breathe, I hope." SC State Motto

"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born; it's an idea and a state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, and country music. It's being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies, coca-cola...and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way." Unknown

Lunch at the Olive Garden...

Is lunch at the Olive Garden blog-worthy? Probably not, but we happened to have the camera with us, and Sara-Kate was cute, so here goes....

Sara-Kate's very first Christmas morning!

I'll be honest, she actually has been playing with her toys that she received for Christmas, but at the time she was more interested in the paper - she loves the colorful stuff - and the occasional box. She tolerated the bow in her hair, but not for long!

Christmas Eve!

We went up to Jenny and Wayne's house for Christmas Eve where we opened presents, ate good food, and listened to the The Night Before Christmas, a family tradition....

Pre-Christmas photos

We visited with the Parker family and saw Aunt Carol for the first time in ages, plus we met Cousin Cynthia and Uncle Mike as well. We also went to the Lights Before Christmas at Riverbanks Zoo, which was COLD, but fun!

Visit with Santa....

Sara-Kate had her very first visit with Santa, and there were no tears. Of course, the jolly old fellow had a few in his eyes after she grabbed in beard, but all in all, the photos went well....

Thanksgiving in Florida....

Visiting with family and friends in Florida for Thanksgiving...we had a great time!

L-E v. Daniel

Sara-Kate and I, along with a friend and colleague made the drive up to Daniel for our final play-off game. Sadly, the Demons went down to the undefeated Lions, 28-7. In order to get to Daniel, you leave Lugoff on I-20. When you arrive in God's country, take a left, continue about 30 minutes down the road and you arrive at your destination. And it was COLD! So, lots of bundling for the baby and the mama!
